A Little
About Us

I am a USPSA Grandmaster (FY6760), and have been competing in pistol competitions around the country since 1986. I have extensive pistol experience, and was the reigning Oregon State IPSC Champion from 1989 through 1995. Other match experience includes:
• 3rd overall at 1991 Area 1
• 2nd overall at 1992 Area 1
• Match Winner, Oregon Open Invitational 1992
• Oregon Man of Steel Champion 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 & 2008.
2006 & 2007 Columbia Cascade Section Champion
2006 Oregon Single Stack Champion
• 2nd overall at 2007 Area 1

I live in Salem, Oregon with my wife Caryn, who is an accomplished competitor herself (FY17116), winning several Lady State Championships, and a top B class competitor every year she has competed.

I started doing gun work in the late 1980s, but didn’t offer services to the public until 2005. I have studied Kuhnhausen, AGI, and worked with local experts on the 1911. I can provide any 1911 service, and specialize in competition modifications to 1911s and Glocks. I also work on:
• High Powers
• Ruger MKIIs and 1022s
• AR15s
• Remington and Benelli shotguns
• Remington 700s

Have you ever had a gunsmith ask you to test fire it?
I test fire all work that is performed on actions or safeties to ensure that my customers receive a safe and functional gun. On my custom built guns, I fully test them, ensuring that you get a safe and reliable gun for your money.

Why Major Nyne (nine)?
Caryn and I have been making major with 9mm for over two years now. My first venture into 9mm was based on an experiment. My old .38 super was acting up and taking me out of many matches. Instead of rebuilding in super, I decided to try 9mm. I rebuilt that gun to 9mm, and once I figured out how easy it was to make major, I converted Caryn's gun to 9mm. I had another frame in the works, so I built that one to 9mm as well. All of these worked so well, I converted our speed steel guns to 9mm, and the rest is history! Since that time, I have converted several customer's guns to 9mm, all with success.

You can too! I can switch your super to 9mm, in most cases, without altering your existing parts. So, if you want to try it but are afraid of trashing a good super, fear no more! Keep in mind the cost. It isn't cheap to switch, but a couple of lost brass matches shooting super comp or even super brass can pay for most of the conversion (I have found 9mm as low as $7.50/K). One season of 9mm will pay back in dividends. I have a bad back, and my performance level drops as I begin to tire. Not picking up brass makes a big difference in how I feel by the last couple of stages. The conversion to 9mm was worth that alone, at least for me. Super is a great cartridge and will likely never go away. But 9mm is definitely an excellent option to consider.
